Monday 27th of August the new members of TA-house were welcomed with a colourful Kick Off-day. The day started with a glass of champagne and the photographing of the new penguins. Then the show started with an eventful and supriseful speach from the founder Johannes Partanen.

After the Kick Off penguins have been touring the house, getting the feel of the place. But with the customer meetings they haven’t been given any off-time, but pushed straight to action. Already on the second day were the phones out of the pockets and ringing to reach customers. As a result: 59 customer visits. So it is with the greatest confidence that we can hand over Tiimiakatemia to the newest generation and look forward to what the fall brings with it.

Here’s a closer peek to what our penguins have been up to during their first weeks..

WEEK1
Monday - the first day
Receiving the penguins, Kick-off. In the afternoon Belbin team role tests and introducing themselves.

Tuesday – the importance of customers
First customer visits in the morning, motorolas of the visits in the afternoon.

Wednesday – practicalities
How to write essays, what papers do I need to fill, where to choose books etc. Figuring out some of the TA vocabulary.

Thursday
The first training session in the morning, exploring Jyväskylä in the afternoon.

Friday – wrapping up first expressions
Motorola – why did you want to come to Tiimiakatemia? What have you learned, what did you know beforehand?
Welcoming celebration organized by the coloracademies in the afternoon.
WEEK 2

Monday
Splitting people into the teams. And first training session with your own team. Kastajaiset -

Tuesday – offices
Decorating offices, Houston calling and representation of each penguine team’s office.

Wednesday and Thursday – Forest and back

Friday – training session and starting the co-operative

We, the three young women, have accepted a brave challenge during our first year at Tiimiakatemia by organizing a winetrip to Switzerland. The trip that we are organizing with our Swiss cooperative partner, responsible travel organizer Fins Tours SA, comes true on September 12th to 16th. But from where this all started? Well, from a small idea in our project leader?s head and by sharing it with other team entrepreneurs in Tiimiakatemia it has rapidly grown into a real project.

Actually, Hanne has been interested in wines for several years and in November she got an idea that she wanted to do a project concerning it. She thought that maybe she could go visit a winery in Finland. She then shared this idea with her teammate Jenni and the two girls from the Innomo coop got even more excited. As usual, the idea didn’t go into practice at first but when they met other team entrepreneurs at a friend leadership course. After that the project group had found its path and took its shape with a new member, Maaru, from the Priima ideacoop.

We have designed very aesthetic rings for both men and women. You can order yours in white or yellow gold and silver. There are 2 stones in the women’s ring. You can choose from different types of stones, such as: zirconia or diamond.
The rings will be numbered in order to make them more special and unique and in this way we also could strengthen the belonging to the Network of Team Academy.We collect the numbering in a database. It contains the name of the buyer, his or her e-mail address and the place where she or he graduated. With the numbering and the creation of a database, we would like to strengthen the belonging to the Network of the Team Academy.

For the past two days we have met with different organisations and schools and told them about our innovative way of learning and gotten the contaminations started with Tiimiakatemia-virus in Poland. Hopefully in the near future I will be visiting Poland again to see Tiimiakatemia Poland in action.

Each day has been full of new experiences and wonderful people. First night we saw opera Carmen, yesterday we had a fantastic multicultural dinner with delegations from Ukraine and Hungary and for our last night our hosts are taking us to a spanish restaurant in the centrum. Hard to believe that tomorrow will be our last day here. But I’m sure I’ll be back!

In our workshop we had a question: “What is the goal of entrepreneurship education?” My answer was to create new entrepreneurs and employees with an entrepreneurial attitude, intrapreneurs. But the question stuck with me and got me thinking of education in general. What do you think is the goal of education and learning? I realized I do not have an answer ready for this question. Do you?
